Installation Requirements
This document sets out the practical system requirements for pilot use of PGAT. It is intended for professional evaluators and IT teams.
Operating System & Permissions
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
- Standard user permissions are sufficient; administrative rights are not required.
- Write access to the selected installation and data directory is required.
Disk Space Requirements
- PGAT application installation: approximately 1.5–2 GB.
- Single evidence capture: typically downloads 0.8–1.3 GB of PDF documents.
- Extracted text, intermediate files, and generated evidence packs increase storage usage.
Minimum free disk space: 10 GB.
Recommended free disk space: 20 GB or more.
AI Usage & Access
PGAT uses AI assistance for structured report drafting only. It does not automate decisions, generate planning conclusions, or replace professional judgement.
- An active OpenAI subscription (Plus is sufficient) - £20 / month.
- A valid OpenAI API key supplied by the user.
AI is used exclusively to convert extracted evidence into clear, auditable written analysis. All document selection, issue framing, and conclusions remain user-controlled.
Network & Connectivity
- Active internet connection required for:
- Downloading planning portal documents.
- Licence validation.
- AI model access.
- Outbound HTTPS (port 443) access must be permitted.
- Corporate firewalls or web filters may require allow-listing of external services.
Accounts & Keys
- A valid PGAT licence key (provided separately).
- A valid AI provider API key supplied by the user.
- The API account must have billing enabled; otherwise analysis requests may fail.
Security Software
As a new, unsigned application, the installer may be scanned by antivirus software or Windows SmartScreen on first run. Initial scanning delays of several minutes are normal.
Display & Usability
- 1920×1080 screen resolution recommended.
- High-DPI scaling may affect layout on some systems.
Operational Notes
PGAT handles large volumes of evidence data. Users are encouraged to periodically review and remove completed analysis folders to manage disk usage during extended pilot or professional use.
